सेंधवा शहर के ईरानी कॉलोनी इलाके में गुरुवार को अचानक भीषण आग लगने से बड़ा नुकसान हो गया। आग की लपटें इतनी तेज थीं कि कुछ ही मिनटों में एक पशु बाड़ा पूरी तरह जलकर खाक हो गया। इस हादसे में पांच भैंसों की मौके पर ही मौत हो गई, जबकि एक भैंस गंभीर रूप से झुलस गई।
स्थानीय लोगों के मुताबिक आग अचानक भड़क उठी और देखते ही देखते बाड़े में बंधे मवेशी इसकी चपेट में आ गए। आग फैलते ही क्षेत्र में अफरा-तफरी मच गई और आसपास के लोग बाल्टियों व पानी के अन्य साधनों से आग बुझाने में जुट गए।
घटना की सूचना मिलने के बाद नगर पालिका की दमकल टीम मौके पर पहुंची और कड़ी मशक्कत के बाद आग पर नियंत्रण पाया। दमकल की समय पर कार्रवाई से आग को आसपास के घरों तक फैलने से रोक लिया गया, जिससे बड़ा हादसा टल गया।
आग बुझाने की कोशिश के दौरान एक व्यक्ति भी झुलस गया, जिसे उपचार के लिए अस्पताल पहुंचाया गया है। घटना के बाद इलाके में बड़ी संख्या में लोग जमा हो गए और पशुपालक को हुए भारी नुकसान पर चिंता जताई। फिलहाल आग लगने के कारण स्पष्ट नहीं हो सके हैं। प्रारंभिक तौर पर इसे अज्ञात कारणों से लगी आग माना जा रहा है। प्रशासन द्वारा मामले की जांच शुरू कर दी गई है।
